If you have a Contabo VPS/VDS, you can't use your own Windows license on it. Instead, you can use the Windows Server license provided by Contabo. If you have your own Windows license, it can only be used on a Dedicated Server. 

How to Order a Windows License for Your Server

If you'd like to order a Windows license through Contabo, follow these steps in your Customer Panel:

1. Navigate to Servers & Hosting 
2. Select VPS/VDS from the drop-down
3. Click on the three dots under 
4. Select Add-on Manager under Configuration
5. Click on the Order tab, then click Order under Licenses
6. Select the license type (Windows), then choose the desired Windows license from the drop-down. ⚠️ Please note that you will need to reinstall your instance to use the Windows license.
7. Click Order & Pay once you're ready to place your order.

In order to remove the Windows License from your server, we will need to reinstall it with a Linux-based operating system. Please contact support.
