What can I do when I'm connected via VNC and my server is not connected to the network on Windows?
If your server shows no network connection while connected via VNC - indicated by a globe with a red stop sign or a computer icon with a yellow exclamation mark - follow the steps below.
Step 1: Check if the network adapter is enabled
1. Right-click the network icon in the taskbar and select Network & Internet settings.
2. Navigate to Change adapter options (Windows 10/Server 2019) or Advanced network settings -> More network adapter options (Windows 11/Server 2022)
3. In the Network Connections window, check whether your adapter is disabled. If it is, right-click it and select Enable.
4. If enabling the adapter resolves the issue, you're done. If not, continue to Step 2.
Step 2: Verify your IP configuration
- In the Network Connections window, right-click the network adapter and select Properties.
- Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click Properties.
- Verify that the IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, and DNS server are set correctly. If the fields are empty or show incorrect values, you will need to enter them manually.
- You can find the correct values in the Customer Control Panel under IP Assignment.
- Enter the values from the Control Panel, click OK, and close all windows.
Step 3: Verify connectivity
After saving your changes, check whether the network error has resolved. Try connecting to your server via RDP or pinging an external address.
If the issue persists after completing these steps, please contact support.
