How can I buy Auto Backup Add-On for a new Contabo server?

1. Open the Contabo Website and select VPS you would like to buy. (Please note, the Auto Backup Add-On is only available for Cloud VPS, not for storage VPS.)
2. You should be taken to the "Configure your VPS " page. Select the configuration options you want for your VPS. 
3. You should see a section called "Data Protection with Automated Backup". 
4. Select and add the Automated Backup Add-On to your order. 
5. Complete your order and your new VPS will then come with the Automated Backup Add-On. 

How Can I buy the Auto Backup Add-On for an existing VPS? 

There are a couple of ways you can purchase the Auto Backup Add-On for an existing VPS by using the new Customer Control Panel. Follow one set of steps below to purchase the Auto Backup Add-On:

Via the VPS menu:

1. Log in to the new Customer Control Panel (https://new.contabo.com).  
2. Click "Servers & Hosting" and then "VPS" from the menu left hand side of the page. 
3. Select the server you would like to purchase the Auto Backup feature for by clicking on the instance name.
4. Click the Button “Order Auto Backup Add-On”.  
5. You will be shown how much you will have to pay monthly for the feature. 
6. Once you're satisfied click the "Order and Pay to Continue" to complete the purchase.

Via the “Auto Backup” menu: 

1. Log in to the new Contabo Control Panel (https://new.contabo.com).  
2. Click "Servers & Hosting" and then "VPS Auto Backup" from the menu on the left hand side of the page.
3. Click the Button “Order Auto Backup Add-On” at the bottom of the page. 
4. You will be shown how much you will have to pay monthly for the feature. 
5. Once you're satisfied click the "Order and Pay to Continue" to complete the purchase. 

What happens after I purchase the Auto Backup Add-On?

The Auto Backup Add-On will be activated for your chosen VPS and accessible through the new Customer Control Panel as soon as you purchase it. You'll find the schedule for the first backup in the VPS Auto Backup section. Going forward, your VPS will be backed up once a day between 9:00am–5:00pm CET. The backup time is set automatically and cannot be changed. You can also see the time of the next scheduled backup in the VPS Auto Backup section.

How do I restore my VPS using Auto Backup?

To restore your VPS using the latest Auto Backup, follow these steps in the Customer Panel:

1. Navigate to the Servers & Hosting section on the left hand side of the page
2. Next to the corresponding VPS/VDS, select VPS Auto Backup
3. Click Restore last backup in the Quick Action column, next to the VPS in question.

Are Auto Backups Automatically Switched on After Purchasing the Auto Backup Add-On? 

The Auto Backup Add-On will be activated as soon as you purchase it.

How can I restore my VPS to the latest Auto Backup?

You can quickly restore your VPS to the latest Auto Backup with the following steps:

1. Open the "VPS Auto Backup" page in the Customer Control Panel here.
2. Click the "Restore last backup" button (shown below) in the "Quick Action" column next to the VPS on which you want to perform this action.
