Yes. Whether you are on a VPS, Dedicated Server, or VDS, there are options to increase your NVMe storage. The process differs depending on your product type.

When purchasing a VPS, VDS, or Dedicated Server with Contabo, you can choose between SSD and NVMe storage during the configuration process. The available storage size depends on the plan you select. If performance is a priority for your use case - such as databases, high-traffic websites, or gaming servers - we recommend selecting NVMe at the time of order.

VPS: Upgrade your NVMe storage via the Customer Control Panel

If you have a Cloud VPS with NVMe storage, you can upgrade to a larger NVMe plan directly in the Customer Control Panel.

How to upgrade your VPS NVMe storage

1. Log in to the Customer Control Panel at my.contabo.com
2. Navigate to your VPS in the left-hand side menu and click Upgrade Now
3. You will see the available Core VPS with NVMe Storage plans and their pricing
4. Select the NVMe plan that suits your needs and complete the upgrade

Please note: downgrades are not possible. If you need to move to a smaller plan, you would need to order a new server and cancel your current one. If you need significantly more storage than the available NVMe plans provide, consider looking into a Storage VPS (see below).

VDS and Dedicated Servers: Contact Support

For VDS and Dedicated Servers, adding more NVMe storage is not available as a self-service option. Please contact Contabo support by opening a ticket via the Customer Panel, and the team will advise on the available options for your specific plan.

I chose SSD - can I switch to NVMe?

VPS customers: Yes, you can upgrade to an NVMe plan directly via the Upgrade Now option in the Control Panel. (Your services on the left-hand side - Upgrade Now) Please be aware that this involves a server reinstallation, so make sure to back up your data beforehand.

VDS and Dedicated Server customers: Yes, but this requires contacting Contabo support. A storage type change requires a reinstallation of your server, which will erase all existing data. Please back up your data before requesting this change.

Need a Large Amount of Storage? Consider a Storage VPS

If you require a large amount of storage, Contabo also offers dedicated Storage VPS plans, which are specifically designed for high-capacity storage needs. You can find the available plans on the Contabo website: contabo.com/en/storage-vps/

Note: Object Storage is a Separate Product
