Yes. Whether you are on a VPS, Dedicated Server, or VDS, there are options to increase your NVMe storage. The process differs depending on your product type.

When purchasing a VPS, VDS, or Dedicated Server with Contabo, you can choose between SSD and NVMe storage during the configuration process. The available storage size depends on the plan you select. If a high-speed storage is a priority for your use case - such as databases, high-traffic websites, or gaming servers - we recommend selecting NVMe at the time of order.

VPS: Upgrade your NVMe storage via the Customer Panel

If you have a Cloud VPS with NVMe storage, you can upgrade to a larger NVMe plan directly in the Customer Panel.

How to upgrade your VPS NVMe storage

1. Log in to the Customer Panel

2. Navigate to Servers & Hosting, then select VPS/VDS from the drop-down

3. Click on the three dots under More next to the corresponding VPS, then scroll down to Upgrade under Scale.

4. Choose your new plan under NVMe. You can see the monthly pricing for different extensions.

5. Once you've chosen, click Next to choose your provisioning method and image.

6. Review your order, then click Order & Pay once you're ready to complete it. then The amount will be charged immediately using the payment method on your account, and the additional storage will be activated right away.
   

Please note: The storage extension and the exact price depends on your VPS plan. If you need significantly more storage than the extension provides, consider upgrading to a larger VPS plan or looking into a Storage VPS (see below).

VDS and Dedicated Servers: Contact Support

For VDS and Dedicated Servers, adding more NVMe storage is not available as a self-service option. Please contact Contabo support by opening a ticket via the Customer Panel, and the team will advise on the available options for your specific plan.

I chose SSD - can I switch to NVMe?

Yes, but this change can only be performed manually by a technician - it is not a self-service action. Please contact support. Keep in mind that changing storage type from SSD to NVMe results in complete data loss. We recommend to backup all data before requesting the change.
