Can I setup nested virtualization with my server?
Currently you can only setup nested virtualization Contabo Dedicated Servers and Virtual Dedicated Servers (VDS). You cannot setup nested virtualization with Contabo Virtual Private Servers (VPS).
Specialized operating systems for virtualization are available with Proxmox VE and XenServer. All Windows Server editions come with Hyper-V support as well. The only exception is if you choose a Virtual Dedicated Server and Windows Server, Hyper-V does not work.
Why can't I setup nest virtualization on my VPS?
Hardware features that are required to run virtual machines efficiently are not present with Contabos VPS offerings. So it is not recommended to run virtual machines on a VPS as performance will be subpar.
