How Do I Reset My Servers Password?

If you have forgotten your servers password or simply want to reset your servers password you can do it via the Customer Control Portal here.


Please note that the task "Password reset" in the Customer Control Panel only works for the"root" user for Linux and for the Windows "administrator" user if your using Windows Server 2016.


It is not possible to reset the password of the Windows "administrator" user for Windows Server 2019 and Windows Server 2022. This is due to security enhancements made by Microsoft. How do I reset my servers password?

  1. Open the Customer Control Portal.
  2. Click either "Server control", "VDS control" or "VPS control" depending on which type of server you would like to reset the password for.
  3. Click the "Manage" button next to the server that you would like to reset the password for.
  4. In the dropdown click "Password reset".
  5. Enter your new password and in the "New password" textbox.
  6. Repeat the new password in the "New password (confirm)" textbox.
  7. Click "Perform password reset" and the process should take a few minutes.
  8. Log in to your server with the new password you just set.
