What limits are there on object storage?
- The maximum file size is 5 TB.
- The number of objects is limited to 3 million per customer by default. This can be increased as mentioned in our guide here.
- The number of S3 API requests are limited to 250 requests/second by default.
- Bandwidth is limited and regularly adjusted. The default limit is 10 MByte/s (=80 Mbit/s). Please be aware that the actual bandwidth will depend on a number of factors including the speed of your personal internet connection.
- The default limit is 100 buckets per customer.
- If publicly shared objects are set to private, they may still be publicly available for up to one hour due to caching.
Why are there limits placed on object storage?
Limits are implemented to ensure good and fair performance for all users of the object storage system.
