Does my server come with DDoS protection?

All Contabo Servers and Webspace packages are provided with a DDoS Protection by default. 

You don't have to take any actions in order to start DDoS protection - the Contabo DDoS Protection is activated for all Contabo servers and Webspace packages automatically and free of charge. 

There is continuous work being done to further improve the Contabo protection system so it can repel many different attacks. 

However, like any other DDoS protection, the Contabo protection system cannot provide a guarantee that any DDoS attack imaginable will be repelled.

How does Contabo DDoS work?

The Contabo DDoS protection automatically detects most DDoS attack patterns and which filters the incoming traffic to the server so that the "malicious" attacking traffic is dropped and only the "real" desired traffic arrives at your server. 

This means that you will barely notice a possible attack while our DDoS protection filters the ongoing attack for you.
