I Can't Login to My Account With 2-Factor Authentication, What Can I Do?
If you’re unable to log in due to 2-factor authentication (2FA), the next steps depend on:
- Which Customer Panel you’re using (new or original)
- Whether you still have your 2FA recovery code

New Customer Panel (new.contabo.com)
If you have your 2-factor authentication recovery code
If you still have your recovery code, you can regain access and reset 2FA during login.
- Open the login page
Go to new.contabo.com. - Enter your login details
Enter your email address and password as usual. - Use your recovery code
When prompted for a one-time code, enter your 2FA recovery code instead. - Log in and reconfigure 2FA
Once logged in, you’ll need to set up 2FA again under:
‘Account’ → ‘Security & Access’ → ‘Authentication’.
Important: Make sure to save your new recovery code during setup.
If you don’t have your recovery code
If you no longer have access to your authenticator app and don’t have your recovery code, our Customer Support team needs to manually verify your identity.

Original Customer Control Panel (my.contabo.com)
If you have your 2-factor authentication recovery code
If you’re using the original Customer Control Panel and still have your recovery code, follow these steps:
- Open the Customer Control Panel
Go to my.contabo.com. - Enter your login credentials
Fill in your login and password as usual and click ‘Login’. - Enter your recovery code
When prompted for the one-time password, enter your recovery code instead. - Log in and reset 2FA
After logging in, 2FA will be deactivated and you’ll need to activate it again.

If you don’t have your recovery code
If you no longer have your recovery code and cannot access your authenticator app, please contact our Customer Support team so they can help you regain access.
