How Do I Reset My Servers Password?
If you have forgotten your servers password or simply want to reset your servers password, you can do it using the Customer Control Portal here.
Please note that the "Password reset" task in the Customer Control Panel only works for the "root" user for Linux and not for the Windows "Administrator" user.
It is not possible to reset the password of the Windows "Administrator" user for Windows, due to security enhancements made by Microsoft. You can read more about how to recover your files if you have forgotten your Windows "Administrator" user in the Contabo blog here.
Below is a guide to resetting the password for the "root" user on Linux.
