How do I change my Multi-factor Authentication settings?

What is Multi-factor Authentication?

Multi-factor Authentication (formerly 2-factor authentication or 2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your Customer Panel account. When it's enabled, you log in using your password and a one-time code generated by an authenticator app on your phone.

Below you’ll find instructions on how to turn multi-factor authentication on/off, or reset it.

In the Customer Panel, you can manage 2FA under: Account → Security & Access → Authentication → Multi-factor Authentication.

Turn on Multi-factor authentication

  1. Install an authenticator app
Install an authenticator app that supports TOTP (Time-based One-Time Passwords), such as:
    • Google Authenticator
    • Microsoft Authenticator
  2. Open the MFA settings
Log in to the Customer Panel, then go to Account → Security & Access → Authentication. If you're already logged in, you can click here.
  3. Enable MFA
Under Multi-factor Authentication, click Activate, then Set up authenticator app.

Note: After enabling the toggle, you will be prompted to configure MFA on your next login.
  4. Log out and log in again
Log out of the Customer Panel, then log in again to start the setup.
  5. Scan the QR code
During login, you will see a setup screen with a QR code. Open your authenticator app and scan the QR code.

If you cannot scan the QR code, use the ‘Unable to scan?’ option on the page.
  6. Enter your one-time code
Enter the one-time code generated by your authenticator app into the One-time code field.
  7. Save your recovery codes
After entering the one-time code, 12 recovery codes will be displayed. These codes let you regain access if you lose your authenticator. Each code works just once. These codes won't be shown again. Store them somewhere safe - a password manager is a good start. You have to choose Save, Copy or Print in order to continue to the next step.

After that, you're all set up and you'll be taken back to the Customer Panel. You can regenerate recovery codes or remove MFA under Security & Access -> Multi-factor Authentication -> Manage.
